Integrability and Moduli

Leon Takhtajan made a decisive contribution to the theory of classical and quantum integrable models which substantially changed the entire discipline. He is creator, with colleagues, of the quantum inverse scattering method which led to the discovery of quantum groups. The most remarkable are his works on relativistic integrable equations and  their quantisation. The book Hamiltonian Methods in the Theory of Solitons, which he wrote with L. D. Faddeev,  became instant classic.

His major contributions also lie in the theory of Riemann surfaces and moduli spaces and include, in particular, Weil–Petersson geometry of moduli spaces, local index theorems and TakhtajanZograf metric, Kähler geometry of universal Teichmüller space, quantum field theories on algebraic curves and associated reciprocity laws and two-dimensional quantum gravity (specifically, Liouville quantum gravity).

 

The aim of the conference is to gather internationally recognized experts in the fields explored by Leon Takhtajan, as well as his collaborators and former students, in order to present new developments and share insights.

The topics of the conference include (but are not limited to) classical and quantum integrable systems, complex geometry of moduli spaces, automorphic forms and their applications to number theory.
